It is hopeful that Teller County will take steps to promptly remedy the situation, at least in subdivisions like ours. Sadly, short term rentals by investors (not residents), have driven up rental rates and property taxes, which affects all of us in one way or another. Boulder does not allow them in subdivisions."* Recently, the Woodland Park City Council "discussed a new ordinance designed to regulate short term rentals."* (*Source: Pike's Peak Courier, October 12, 2022). Currently, "Denver only allows owner-occupied rentals period. According to the county, many local homeowner's associations have been updating their covenants to deal with the issue of short term rentals, which has been a growing problem across the state in the past few years.
